Cassandra Albertin MD FACOG, NCMP

Board certified and a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Upon completing a multidisciplinary undergraduate degree in Child Psychology, Life Sciences, and Spanish at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Albertin began her medical education at University of Wisconsin, Madison. She returned to the Twin Cities to complete her residency at the University of Minnesota. She is board certified and a fellow in the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). She serves on the quality committee and the compliance committee for Premier OB/GYN of Minnesota.

Specialties & Philosophy of Care

 Dr. Albertin chose the field of obstetrics and gynecology because it is an area of medicine that combines her varied interests. While in medical school she found that she was drawn to surgery, but also had a desire to get to know and truly build relationships with patients. She appreciates being able to help counsel her patients through treatment options to achieve their health goals. Most of all, she wants to empower women to be active participants in their health.  

Dr. Albertin has specific interests:

  • general obstetrics

  • complex contraception/birth control management

  • vulvar dermatology

  • management of vulvar dermatoses including complex Lichen Sclerosis

  • performs intralesional steroids injections if needed

  • abnormal uterine bleeding -both surgical and non-surgical treatments

  • high risk pregnancy and gender affirming surgery.

She has additional certification from the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). She is active in the following professional organizations; AAGL, ACOG, NAMS, ABOG, AIUM & ISVVD.   

Surgeries

Surgeries performed by Dr Albertin include, but are not limited to:  

  • Vaginal, laparoscopic and abdominal/open hysteroscopy.  

  • Robotic surgeries including hysterectomy and large fibroid uteruses

  • Laparoscopic ovarian cyst removal

  • Treatment endometriosis

  • Ectopic pregnancy management.  

  • Myomectomy-either hysteroscopic, robotic or abdominal 

  • Hysteroscopy including, polypectomy, IUD Removals, D&C, Fibroids removal and septum take downs  

  • Endometrial ablation

  • CO2 laser of genital warts or vulvar pre-cancers 

  • Suction D&C and D&E for miscarriage up to 18 weeks 

In Office performed by Dr Albertin include, but are not limited to:  

  • Hysteroscopy

  • Ablation

  • IUD Removal

  • LEEPs

  • D&C for miscarriage up to 8 weeks   

Personal Notes

Dr. Albertin grew up outside of Milwaukee, but for most of her adult life she has called the Twin Cities home. When she is not working, she loves to travel. She enjoys scuba diving, spending time with friends and family and trying out new restaurants in the Twin Cities. She also tries to spoil her cats as much as possible.
